Are you an organized leader?

Public Works isn’t just about fixing the road—it’s about planning the project. The City of Staunton is seeking an Operations Superintendent to join our leadership team.

We’re looking a strategic leader who thrives on organization. From managing VDOT grant reimbursements to implementing city-wide preventative maintenance programs, this role is for the professional manager who loves seeing a complex plan come together perfectly.

The Essentials:

Lead the Team: Mentor and manage multiple divisions and a staff of 25+ professionals.

Manage the Mission: Oversee multi-million-dollar budgets, third-party contracts, and long-range infrastructure schedules.

Strategic Oversight: Navigate emergency response planning, safety (OSHA) compliance, and environmental standards.

This is a high-level administrative role responsible for the “vitals” of our city: our streets, bridges, traffic systems, and municipal fleet.
