Smart Cookies Trivia continues this summer on the Second Sunday of each month plus Themed Thursdays every fourth Thursday of the month! Round up your A-Team of up to 6 people and come out for a night of competition, fun, and cookies!
Staunton Parks and Recreation is hosting Summer Lovin’ Sock Hop
Dust off your dancing shoes and get down to tunes from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and more! We will provide an atmosphere that is sure to knock your socks off. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of food and drinks to help keep up your energy so you can dance the night away. Join us for a night of dancing, games, and reminiscing at this Grease themed event. We encourage ticket purchase (in office or online) prior to the event but will also offer tickets at the door. Participants under the age of 45 must be a plus one.
9PM Join Queen City Music for Old Time Jam
Join this dedicated and lively group of musicians for a regular, weekly Old Time Jam on Mondays from 7-9pm right in The Shop at Queen City Music Studios! The session is open to players and appreciators, and is a free Community Music Gathering. Their Community Music Gatherings are hosted by volunteer staff, family, and friends. Donations are graciously accepted and go straight back to their mission of making music makers. THANK YOU for considering a donation to Queen City Music Studios.
CoArt Featured Artist for August: Theresa Markiw
Theresa has painted plein air most of her life and loves the challenges of realistic painting, both landscape and still life. She’s recently added abstract elements of collage which invoke the spirit of the natural world in new and exciting ways. All her works reflect her love of the natural world. The exhibition will be up through the end of August.
Heifetz Institute’s Grand Finale—2026 Festival of Concerts
There is no event quite like it …Heifetz Institute’s Grand Finale is an extraordinary evening of music and community. Their final concert of the season represents an all-star gathering of our faculty and every one of their students in a rousing concert brimming with fire, passion, and virtuosity. It’s followed by a Farewell Toast, where students, faculty, and audience members raise a glass together for a poignant and uniquely Staunton summer ritual.
Wayne on Main Concert Series with Sun-Dried Opossum
Originally formed in 1992, SDO performs their brand of original guitar driven rock-n-roll. With three studio records and over 1,000 live shows under their belt, SDO is a seasoned music machine. Main Street will be closed in front of the Wayne Theatre for the concert. There will be some chairs available for use, but you may want to bring a lawn chair, if you have one. There will be concessions and restrooms available at the Wayne Theatre during the concert. They will have additional food trucks and beer outside the theatre as well! Admission is Pay What You Will
SAW Speakers Toastmasters Club Meeting – Open to the Public
SAW Speakers Toastmasters Club is a new which is working to charter in the Staunton, August County, and Waynesboro area! As Toastmasters, we practice public speaking while helping each other learn and grow. We believe in providing feedback that is both useful and encouraging. If you would like to grow in your communication or leadership skills, we would love to help! Please come join us as our guest (for free) and see if Toastmasters is right for you. Informational meetings are scheduled weekly until the club charters. Members can determine meeting location, schedule and frequency at a later date. POP ART PETS Fundraiser for the Mosby Foundation

Learn to Handbuild at the Staunton Clayground
Step into your creativity with this inspiring handbuilding masterclass. The instructor will cover sculpting, coil building, soft/hard slab construction, decorative and texturizing techniques, as well as glazing methods. Students will learn all essential handbuilding techniques, making several artistic, functional pieces to take home. In the process, they will learn how to use slump and drape molds, a slab roller, carving tools, and a clay extruder for coil building. Class projects may include but are not limited to plates, bowls, mugs, vases, planters, utensil holders, book ends, and animal sculptures, and more. All pieces made will be food, oven, and dishwasher safe. This is an introductory course, no experience necessary. Price includes materials and firing.

Every year, the Augusta County Fair brings the community together to highlight the county’s local agricultural industry, blending in fun, educational experiences, and modern entertainment. From livestock judging to acrobats, illusions, laser tag, and globally diverse cultures, everyone gets a bird’s eye view of the great big world while enjoying first-class entertainment. Kids receive interactive experiences and the ability to learn about the world around them! The Fair’s educational events spark their imagination while teaching! The Fair provides family entertainment and supports the community and local businesses! The Augusta County Fair works diligently to maintain affordable admission and high-quality entertainment so families can provide this experience to their children. It is fun, fellowship, food, and a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones while learning something new!
