Silver Line Theatre Exchange Presents Sylvia

“Sylvia” by A.R. Gurney is a witty and poignant exploration of marriage and mid-life challenges. Set in Manhattan, it follows Greg, a financial trader nearing the end of his career, and his wife Kate, a public-school English teacher gaining new opportunities. Their lives take a comedic turn when Greg brings home a dog named Sylvia, hilariously portrayed by a human. This street-smart mix of Lab and poodle becomes a source of contention, as Greg finds solace in Sylvia amidst his frustrations, while Kate sees her as a rival for Greg’s affection. As their marriage teeters on the brink, the couple navigates a series of humorous and touching events that ultimately lead them to compromise.
