The Staunton Augusta Art Center Presents Anamnesis: Echoes In Time

This Memorial Day weekend, the Staunton Augusta Art Center will open “Anamnesis: Echoes In Time,” a thought-provoking exhibition featuring the work of sculptor Michelle A. Smith and photographer Jeremy J. Starn. Running from May 23 through July 7, 2025, the exhibit invites viewers to reconsider the nature of memory—not as a fixed record, but as a fluid, evolving narrative shaped by time, emotion, and perception.

Through sculpture and photography, Smith and Starn explore how we remember, forget, and reinterpret our pasts. Their work suggests that memory is less about accuracy and more about meaning—constructed from fragments, feelings, and the ever-shifting lens of the present.
