Eunoia Theatre Presents World Premiere Drama: Convenient Season

Eunoia Theatre Presents World Premiere Drama: Convenient Season

Eunoia Theatre will present the world premiere of Convenient Season, written by Shenandoah Valley-based playwright MaKayla Baker Paxton and directed by Holly Hanks Wanta, running August 9th, 10th, 16th, and 17th, at 7:00 p.m. each evening. The play will take place outdoors on a working farm located in Weyers Cave, Virginia. Convenient Season tells the story of two brothers, Jay and Lou, who have become stranded in a cornfield. We follow their fast-paced banter as they grapple with their shared past, broken present, and complicated future. This bleak and gritty story shines a light on an underrepresented corner of the world, its trials and tribulations, and its people—those who stay and those who leave. The cast includes Robert Gotschall as Lou and Noah Samuel Miller as Jay. The creative team includes Rhys McClelland as Producer, Amanda Saufley as Stage Manager, Agori Padgett as Assistant Stage Manager, and Philip Bly as Addiction/Recovery Consultant. Audience members will receive full information about the performance location upon purchasing tickets.

Sorry, Most Sorry: An Adaptation of The Winter’s Tale for Young Audiences

Sorry, Most Sorry: An Adaptation of The Winter’s Tale for Young Audiences

Some stories begin with “once upon a time.” Ours begins with a king who lets jealousy steal everything he loved. Years later, it will take two determined sisters, a stolen bear, and the power of a heartfelt apology to set things right. Sorry, Most Sorry is a playful, heart-filled retelling of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, crafted especially for young audiences. This quick and engaging 30-minute performance is perfect for families, school groups, and anyone curious about Shakespeare’s world. This special event features a dedicated cast engaged specifically for this production. It is presented outside of their mainstage season, so you can enjoy a unique, one-of-a-kind performance designed with young audiences in mind. Join them for a magical day at the Blackfriars Playhouse, where stories come to life and every audience is part of the adventure. Written and adapted by Devlin Ford (Shenandoah Children’s Theatre).
