Tastes and Tunes: A Fundraiser for the Valley Children’s Advocacy Center
Saturday, June 14th from 11am to 4pm at Red August Farm, The Staunton Augusta Junior Women’s Club is hosting Tastes and Tunes: A Fundraiser for the Valley Children’s Advocacy Center. It will be an afternoon of food, live music, shopping, kids area, photo booth, beer garden and more! Tickets are $10 each in advance or $12 at the door, proceeds go to support a great cause. Children 10 and under are FREE! Musicians include Crystal Armentrout Duo, Small Batch, John Douglas and the Bitter Trades and more.

Saturday, May 31 at The Art Hive Collective: OOPS All Zines: SUCZ4 Workshop Series What is a Zine? A zine is a small, self-published magazine! Zines are cheap to make and distribute, creating fewer barriers to entry for anyone to create At their best, these mini-books can mirror the unique diversity of our communities and provide a point of connection for us all as evolving zine culture is built on sharing these creator-made DIY guys! The oops ALL ZINES Fest and Workshop Series is imagined as a co-building of space between experienced zine makers and newly interested folks aiming to foster early-career zinesters of any age as they navigate getting connected to the existing scene and changing it for the better! An offshoot of SUCZ Fest in Staunton, this June 14, 2025 gathering is designed to be a free to attend community project, with a zine-making craft table for everyone and the opportunity to buy, trade and barter zines!
Staunton Public Library’s Summer Reading Game
Friday, May 30th at 1PM Join the Staunton Public Library at Gypsy Hill Park to kick off Summer Reading Game Celebrate the summer and learn more about the SPL Reading Game at our kick-off event on Friday, May 30 from 1-3 p.m. at the Gypsy Hill Park Bandstand. Enjoy music from The Hot Mamas and purchase refreshments from Nolia’s Lemonade. Kids’ activities will be provided. Bring your own blanket, chairs, and snacks. Free and all ages welcome. See you there! Rain location: 2nd Floor Meeting Room at the Library. If you can’t make it to this event, don’t worry! A landscape photograph is an encounter with weather. In different seasons, the prevailing weather will determine the quality, angle, and color of the light that illuminates the scene. These photographs, then, are a record of encounters with particular places at certain months of the year and at specific times of the day. The same place may have an entirely different look and feel in another season, or at another hour on a different day. It all depends on the weather. Opening reception is June 7th from 4-6.

Memorial Day Weekend at Frontier Culture Museum
Join the Frontier Culture Museum all Memorial Day weekend as they celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution. The weekend will include the Hog Island Garrison recreating a 17th century militia muster and the civilian response, Crockett’s Western Battalion during the American Revolution, and the Civil War Impressions reenactor group showcasing a period hospital.
